Working with small components (Part deux)

These past few years I had been using those tiny earbud headphones to listen to podcasts and such (thanks guys at Kimbo). I went years previously not using them and now it is almost a daily practice. I have been able to keep up with news, politics, and even foreign language podcasts in spanish, german, norwegian, italian…

Ultimately when one of my devices starts to degrade to the level of almost uselessness, I research the method of extracting the battery or other consumable from the device. These tiny Sony earbuds have been the most delicate work that I have performed. I can say that I have not damaged anything yet in my three or four times of changing batteries in these devices. Just illustrates that with the proper tools, and a modicum of skill can go much further than re-purchasing a new unit altogether.
